Yes. The Lava Smash came and went in an instant. As per usual, I noticed the newsletter in my spam mailbox a little too late. Not that I was going to persuade myself to fork out $175 for a production toy. Plus shipping charges, easily $200. But we all know this piece here can easily fetch at least 2 1/2 times in the secondary market.

It's not that much fun nowadays when it comes to collecting Joe's toys. It is just how it has become.

Like thousands of other Joe Ledbetter fans, I do not own a single Lava version of his series of toys. I would give max credit to the Lava Bunny. That was original. In the beginning, I thought it was a very creative colourway.

Subsequently, that thought changed.

Smash colourways

So my brief entry of Joe Ledbetter's Smash here revealed four colourways. I was expecting more, but not like (possibly) TEN?? as 'hinted' at Toy2R's page.

It will all soon be revealed, not there is any rush for it. I am an anti-variant person, however once or twice I too succumbed to it.

Joe Ledbetter Smash

There we go, another soon-to-be-released toy from Joe Ledbetter's line of characters. This time and most likely onwards, they will be produced by Toy2R instead of the usual WheatyWheat.

And as per-usual, we will be seeing at least four different colour variants, maybe more, with four shown to date.

I shall pass on these. I can't believe toys have already being marked at $80-$90 for retail nowadays. I would rather save up for prints and customs. Just a matter of personal preference, I suppose. I intend to cut down on production pieces.

Most have been sold off, just unfortunately that I have lost interest in them. Only keeping the ones I really felt that I could not let go. And Be@rbricks have over-saturated the scene, and I foresee the same would happen to the vinyl scene but let's not get into that.

Moreover, I have not gotten my own place yet to properly set them all up. Believe it or not, I acquired all these from over three continents where I have previously lived. All the movings are killing me. And truth be told, these are all just temporary places for them. I have better ideas on how to display them in the future, patience is virtue, wherever I will be.
