astro lapin revealed - almost
Mr. Clement finally released concrete info that the upcoming Lapin is a shrunk version of his previous Astro Lapin. Just when I thought there would not be bigger surprises, he pulled it off with this release.

onwards to a new Lapin
Mr. Clement released a teaser on a new upcoming Lapin. I personally think it resembles his previously released 12" Astro Lapin. Keep on the lookout for more news via. his blog.

latest Petit Lapin addition
Petit Lapin X Marie Paysant-Le Roux
This arrived early this morning, straight off some random shots around since I was not fully sober. Makes you think I took this shot while doing my business in the loo, huh?
The comic strip is quite impressive. I take it there are 100 pieces of scarves of different colours, patterns and designs. Quite a feat.

Petit Lapin X Marie Paysant-Le Roux on sale
This is fairly up-to-date news. Jump on it, they won't last long.
Beautifully done. I've always liked the white aspect of Lapin (innocence? like a white sheet of paper). Classic.

Mr. Clement x Marie Paysant-le Roux
This is old news but like I have said, if it fancies me it'll go into here. Apparently, both artists are currently doing their studies in London. They have probably crossed paths this way.
I am very much fond of the Lapin, most notably for its minimalist approach to a toy. Simply put, simple and effective piece of artwork. Doesn't matter whether you like Mr. Clement's figures but you really gotta admire him for hand-making the first few 'mass production' lapins. That in itself, impressed me very much.
Marie Paysant-Le Roux, a textile artist, should make a good collaboration in which is dedicated to both their grandmothers. Limited to 100 pieces and will be available for order real soon, so keep your eyes peeled at Mr. Clement's blog.

follow up: Petit Lapin black
The boxing could have been way better. I do not mind the shoebox but it could at least be wrapped up with brown paper or something. It looks poorly managed, Mr. Clement. My 'shoebox' was totally beaten-up.
Upon opening, one hand I am glad that there was bubble wrap over it and the new packaging is sturdy; on the other I was inevitably dismayed to see faint scratch marks on random spots.
It is a real lovely piece, but one cannot just be pleased when one keeps coming across 'problems' that could have been prevented in the first place.
On the sidenote, the actual piece has good weight to it. Sculpt-wise very well done, smooth flow all around. And look, it stands. You will know what I mean if you do own Mr. Clement's previous Lapins.
I reckon just about anybody would fall in love with it.

"Une surprise dans la courrier c'est matin - un petit lapin"?
A present to HY, rarely do I write letters. Petit Lapin delivered it in my stead.

Petit Lapin
Indeed, the lapins were personally handmade by Mr. Clement himself. Imagine all the tedious works and skin irritations (including the backdrop printing and packaging).
It's similar to owning an original sculpt. Unfortunately, it does not stand well at all but I suppose that's what makes it the more lovely in the packaging.
It is awesome news to hear that Mr. Clement is releasing more lapins! They're called Petit Lapin this time.
Petit Lapin os 13cm-tall, two editions with 500pcs each:
