This would be my final post for this blog. It will remain here as I am glad to see there are still visitors popping in, most likely unintentionally. However, I have stopped blogging here for the past two years, mainly due to work commitments and moving on to 'better' things in life.
I too, have stopped buying toys. However, I am reluctant to give up on artworks and customs. Those will probably be what I am after nowadays. To spill the beans, I have three more custom Mellows due. And I recently purchased a time-release print by Audrey Kawasaki.
I thank you for your visits and if anybody would bother to, I think it would be a good read from page one to this most recent post. I enjoyed every moment of it and I hope you would as well.
Any future posts will be posted to my flickr.
Farewell and please support rising artists.

home again
After a month of travelling and random blog entries, I have finally returned home again. Before I knew it, it is already coming into the month of November. And just when I thought I could rest, I might have to tag along to Manila in The Phillipines. I don't mind, really.

MIA for a bit
I shall be off a couple of days.
Couple of big things turned up. In fact, I have flown to the other side of the globe.
At the airport terminal, waiting on my next flight back home.
Abruptly, I have said goodbye to the UK.

bug makers
For you bug-haters (including myself) out there, there is this kind of bug which you may even like. Chris Goodwin is an illustrator who does artistic intricate little insects. I find them absolutely captivating, particularly those that come in a bit of bright soft colours. Very simple and 'alluring' ornaments in a house, wouldn't you agree?
Imagine you've got a modernist house, all in white, and you have these bugs in small little glass boxes around. Lovely.

what a tease!
I have seen the whole thing, but we've yet to come up with final photo shots of it. Haha! Somehow I kept a huge grin on my face while looking at the pictures sent by the artists. I suppose I was just plain happy. It's... out of this world, I tell you.
It's absolutely surreal and mesmerizing when you stare at it and seriously, you will get drawn into the space, literally ;).
Here are two complimentary teaser shots:

The Burj Dubai
The Burj Dubai will, for a long time, hold on to the title of The Tallest man-made structure in the world. Standing at - an unconfirmed - height of 636 m (2,087 ft) with 160 completed floors, it will take more than a mere nation's ambition and pride to beat.
These fantastic aerial shots of Burj Dubai were released recently and it shows exactly its grandeur and height domination.

Selfridges London bringing in designer vinyls?
The good people over at Clutter Magazine's blog brought news that Selfridges along Oxford Street, London will be opening a new department by the name "The Designer Toy Lounge". Sounds posh doesn't it?
Hop on over to their page and read on.

Easily my top acquisition for the year
Not exactly a full teaser since it is quite obvious whose works this is. :)
To be honest, I did not what or how to feel when I saw this teaser shot sent by the artist, early this morning. I am... very very excited. What's the word for 'more than just excited'?

MINDstyle's China Earthquake Charity Auction
The patiently awaited MINDStyle's charity auction has just kicked off here. They've brought out the big guns - Doktor A, Kathie Olivas, Brandt Peters and etc. I did not know there was this giant 10" paint master Stephen Le Pod by the Dok. And Kathie's 9" two-faced Hazel is a beauty.
Not the most ideal starting bid prices but think of this way, donate $1000-ish and get a once-off original piece for free.
We shall see how this auction does when it ends on Sunday, 31st August 2008.

360 degree panoramic lens Music Video
I find this video absolutely enjoyable. Did not require much computer graphic alterations, just a simple revolutionary lens.

Roberto Cavalli Coca Cola Light Bottles
I know of mates who collect Coca Cola merchandises but these by Roberto Cavalli will definitely cost more than just an average bottle of coke.

a seller's rant
Personally, I find it a real pain to sell things. Particularly so when the items you sell are no longer 'hot cakes' or what the hype wagon contains. Sell it for too much, nobody gives it a glance. Sell it for too little, mind as well keep it. Does make me regret buying certain things.
I shall just post them here as well, in case a random person drops by and likes what he sees.

a paper tiger
Allow me to introduce a paper tiger, an online art store that pro-actively brings to us limited edition prints by big name artists, small name artists and growing artists. Most of the artists are relatively new but not unheard of. I am particularly fond of works by new artists, something fresh and unseen before yet you can still afford their works.
One artist getting featured there that I am trying to follow is Scott Belcastro, which I will talk about once I have learnt more about him in due time.
Check it out, explore and discover...

my favourite 'Art' artist
Take a guess who my favourite artist is?
I present you, Mr. Dan May.
Knowing that I currently am not able to afford his works (well, maybe the smaller paintings is possible), I shall have to keep following his works and I shall one day, make a kickstart to collecting his paintings.
The followings are his works for the upcoming Copro Nason show entitled "Kiss of Life".
"Tea for Two"
"Well of Knowledge"
And still remaining my favourite piece from him:
"A Tasty Affair"

contemplate
Absolutely pre-occupied with work. Was a little surprised to see the preview to Dok A's show in my mailbox. I wasn't expecting it.
I am thinking about picking something up. But in no rush.
I've got more things to worry about.

down-graded baroness
So I was one of the 'lucky' ones to be on the list to purchase an 8" Baroness Dunny from the Kidrobot forum. Got the email, I am certain I was one of them in the first / second email. Paid up, so waited and waited. Two days ago, an email entitled "Baroness Dunny" popped into my spam mailbox. Looked at it and not surprisingly;
So, this is the second time I got denied an 'exclusive'. First being the orange teeter months ago. Well, I got a pink teeter for free the last time and now a 3" SDCC Baroness Dunny as compensation. Should I be all smiling? Tsk... oh well, that's for being across the pond.

what's your ecological footprint?
I find this a stimulating method of indirectly reminding one of his/her ecological footprint. Brilliant idea! Makes me wonder whether I have the brain for such innovative designs. I ought to venture into that field rather than what I am doing now.
ah, animal tracks!
