Doktor A's Ignacious Longbottom

This is absolutely amazingly beautiful! It's just a finely sculpted piece. And yes, elegant is probably my best word to describe it. So it turns out one of the sneak peak shots I recently posted wasn't a custom and in fact a Doktor A original sculpture for Rivet Gallery's October 4th show entitled "Noxious Fumes"

This piece just... stands out so so much more above (I would say) all customs. Well, that is expected of him when it comes to original pieces. Stupendous idea.

Someone has got to show me some actual photos from the show!

Scott Radke's Owls & Rabbits

Fantastic latest works by Scott Radke. This time round, exploring the owls and subsequently the bark came together with them. One of my favourite sculptures.

Altars

I think these sculptures by Andrew Bell are awesome. If I reside in the States, I would have definitely gotten one for my living room or even better, back garden.

They are; All Seeing (3 pieces), Skull (5 pieces) and Big Mouth (3 pieces). Hand-painted and stands 30" tall, they are available from Lulubell Toys for $1000. Can't possibly have one since it will costs me an arm to have it delivered.

Noferin wooden sculptures

Still looking up for actual photos at the show of giant Pecan and Pandacake. Should be quite impressive.

Scott Radke at Thinkspace

"Pins & Needles" at Thinkspace opened and featured works by Scott Radke & Kevin Titzer last friday, 8th February. I almost forgot about it, though I wouldn't be able to afford any, still I would like to see what his largest show to date has to offer.

Preview is available now and I'm loving quite a few pieces, namely; 'Swan #24' and 'Raindrop #4' (shown below).

Loving them though couple of them do spook me. Each individual piece gives me a different impression. That's the fun bit.

Brendan Monroe sculptures

It's incredibly difficult to resist these intricate creatures/sculptures. I absolutely love a few chosen ones. Mainly because I can relate them to what I do at the moment.

"Mycobacterium" dimensions variable, various hardwoods and acrylic

(mounted on wall, but to me they resemble futuristic light-weight balloon structures on the ground)

"Solid, Liquid, Gas" dimensions variable, various hardwoods, acrylic and fishing line

Microbe, cedar and acrylic

(not so much on this one, it slightly creeps me. Probably because I hate multi-legged 'things')

Rumour has it that there might be new vinyl toys from Brendan. The above are sculptures apparently. Let's just hope there will be concrete news about that something new in the near future.
